I have been practicing Massage Therapy since 2007. I have been a nurse since 1996.
Taking time for oneself seems selfish. But I believe getting a massage is not selfish. It takes wisdom to take care of your body before it becomes run down or exhausted. "Everyone" needs a massage, in my opinion.
I enjoy reminding a client what it feels like to be relaxed or not in as much pain.
I grew up in Putnam County. I went to college moved out of the country to Malaysia and landed on the west coast in Seattle. It was while in Seattle that I wanted to become a massage therapist. I have a great family with one daughter out of college and the other daughter is 9 years old. I met my husband 18 years ago and he has worked at DePauw University for several years. I enjoy reading, hiking, biking, swimming, yoga and walking. I come from a large family and enjoy getting together with them as often as I can.
Self awareness is one goal when giving a massage. My joy comes from helping others. I love working with different problems and conditions.
My basic goal is to help the body heal itself and to increase health and well-being.
